Samsung, LG Adopt Eco-Friendly Practices
August 09, 2005
In compliance with the EU RoHS Directive, Samsung has decided to exclude six hazardous substances such as cadmium from all of their products starting August 2005. Samsung also finished the Eco-Partner certification by the end of July 2005. From August 2005, they will only use RoHS-compliant components.

The same applies to LG as they have stopped using components with hazardous substances in all of their products since July 1, 2005. To further boost competitiveness and to address such environmental regulations, the company has also expanded both the manpower and duties of its internal environmental technology committee.
